Developed by Ford Taylor, Transformational Leadership (TL) helps people identify personal and team constraints, build a shared leadership language and practise better ways of communicating, resolving conflict and taking responsibility.
Delivered locally by Unashamedly Ethical (UE), a movement that champions ethics, values and clean living. Learn More about UE
When budgets, resources and time are stretched, leaders need people who can work together. Misalignment, repeated misunderstandings and unresolved conflict absorb capacity that an organisation needs for its customers, mission and growth.
TL focuses on the habits and relationships leaders can influence: clearer expectations, healthier conversations, responsible decisions and a culture where people contribute.
WHAT THE TOOLS HELP YOU WORK TOWARDS
Choose learning and culture support that fits your people, setting and goals.
The emphasis extends beyond acquiring skills: participants examine how they lead, practise tools between sessions and bring a common language into everyday relationships and decisions.
HOW
The programme is fully customisable to your organisation’s needs and time allocation. Agree a structure that makes room for preparation, facilitated discussion and real-life practice.
01
Programme objectives connect the people we serve, the activities we deliver and the outcomes we work towards.
02
An accredited TL Facilitator leads discussion and application. Session lengths and timing are agreed for your cohort.
03
Use your workbook, reflection and accountability to apply tools to real situations.
04
Keep using the tools and shared language in your team and wider relationships.
This is a facilitated journey that can fit around work commitments. It does not require an extended period out of the office. For organisational cohorts, agree the session length, frequency, overall duration and preparation time with UE before booking.

Shaun Kwela is a facilitator of TRIBE, Unashamedly Ethical’s youth ethical formation programme.
Working directly with young people, Shaun helps create engaging spaces in which learners can explore character, values, choices, responsibility and the kind of people they want to become.
Through TRIBE’s Character Development, Ethical Entrepreneurship and Culture Shift programmes, he helps young people develop the internal foundations that support ethical decision-making, responsible leadership and positive influence.
Creative, relational and naturally engaging, Shaun brings energy and authenticity to his work with young people. His ability to connect with learners helps translate important conversations about ethics and character into experiences that are practical, accessible and relevant to their everyday lives.
At the heart of his role is relationship. By meeting young people where they are, listening to them and walking alongside them, Shaun helps make ethics personal rather than abstract.
His work reflects one of the central beliefs behind TRIBE: if we want to influence the future, we need to invest in character while it is still being formed.
Bertram Davids is a facilitator of Transformational Leadership On Demand (TLOD), Unashamedly Ethical’s transformational leadership pathway.
Through TLOD, Bertram works with individuals and leaders to explore the connection between character, behaviour, relationships, responsibility and influence.
His facilitation style is grounded in relationship and engagement, creating spaces in which participants can reflect honestly on how they lead and the impact their choices have on others.
Bertram is passionate about helping people move beyond leadership as a position or title and recognise the influence they carry in their families, workplaces and communities.
Through his work with UE, he contributes to developing leaders of moral influence — people who understand that transformation begins personally but has the potential to ripple outward into teams, organisations and communities.
Casey-Lee Scott provides the administrative and operational support that helps keep Unashamedly Ethical moving.
Working at the centre of the organisation’s day-to-day activity, Casey supports programmes, events, administration, record keeping, stakeholder coordination and operational processes across UE.
Her role is often where many strands of the organisation come together. Whether supporting a programme, coordinating information, assisting with an event or keeping administrative processes on track, Casey helps create the practical foundation that allows the wider team to focus on relationships, programmes and impact.
She brings reliability, organisation and a strong service orientation to the team, helping ensure that commitments are followed through and that the detail behind UE’s work is properly managed.
Casey’s contribution reflects an important reality of movement-building: meaningful impact depends not only on vision and ideas, but on the people who quietly and consistently make sure that things happen.
Ilene Power is the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Unashamedly Ethical, with responsibility for the organisation’s operations, governance, compliance, legal oversight, reporting, communications and organisational systems.
A seasoned labour lawyer and Certified Ethics Officer, Ilene brings more than two decades of experience in employment law, workplace relations, governance, organisational ethics and dispute resolution. Her work sits at the intersection of law, ethics, leadership, organisational culture and purpose.
As COO, Ilene plays a central role in developing and translating organisational strategy into practical implementation. She develops and oversees the operational frameworks, systems, structures and accountability mechanisms that support UE’s day-to-day functioning and strengthen organisational consistency, transparency and effectiveness.
As General Counsel, she provides internal legal, governance and compliance oversight and is responsible for driving the governance and compliance outcomes required of Unashamedly Ethical as a non-profit company. This includes supporting the Board and executive leadership, maintaining appropriate governance processes, overseeing statutory and organisational compliance, and helping ensure that UE operates within a sound legal and governance framework.
Ilene also leads UE’s reporting and communications function. Internally, she develops and coordinates organisational, management and Board reporting, bringing together information from programmes, finance, fundraising, partnerships, communications, events and operations to provide leadership and the Board with a clear view of organisational performance, risks, priorities and progress. Externally, she helps shape how UE communicates its purpose, programmes, impact and ethical voice to partners, stakeholders and the wider public, developing key communications, advocacy content and thought-leadership messaging to ensure that the movement communicates with clarity, consistency and purpose.
She leads Ethics in Action, UE’s organisational ethics pathway, supporting organisations to move beyond compliance and intentionally build cultures in which ethical conduct can take root and endure.
A significant part of Ilene’s work is advocacy and thought leadership: helping individuals, leaders and organisations recognise that ethics is not simply about responding when something goes wrong, but about intentionally building the conditions in which people are more likely to do what is right.
Gary Power is the Chief Executive Officer of Unashamedly Ethical and has been a driving force behind the movement’s growth, sustainability and strategic development.
With a strong background in business and leadership, Gary brings an entrepreneurial, relational and highly networked approach to building a global movement for ethics. He has a natural ability to connect people, identify shared purpose and build relationships that develop into meaningful partnerships, funding support and long-term collaboration.
As CEO, Gary leads the strategic direction of Unashamedly Ethical and carries primary responsibility for fundraising, partnership development, stakeholder engagement, public advocacy and the organisation’s overall sustainability. In the absence of a dedicated fundraising function, he is personally and actively involved in building donor and partner relationships, pursuing funding opportunities and strengthening the income base needed to sustain and grow UE’s work.
Gary also provides executive oversight of UE’s financial function. Working closely with the finance team, he monitors the organisation’s financial position, budget, cash flow and sustainability, and reports to the Board on financial performance, strategic priorities and key organisational risks.
A significant part of Gary’s leadership is outward-facing. He represents UE in strategic stakeholder engagements, partner forums, speaking opportunities and relationship-building conversations, helping to expand the movement’s reach and strengthen its influence.
Gary’s strength lies in bringing people together around a shared purpose. He is a natural networker and relationship-builder who understands that movements are built through trust, connection and sustained engagement.
Through his leadership, Gary continues to create opportunities for individuals, organisations, funders and partners to participate meaningfully in building a more courageously ethical world.
I commit to living and leading with honesty, even when it costs me.
I choose accountability over comfort, and courage over convenience.
I will not compromise my integrity for approval, advancement, or ease.
I commit to treating every person with dignity — in my words, decisions, and actions.
I accept that ethical leadership is not a title. It is a daily decision.
I sign this commitment not as a perfect person, but as someone who chooses to try — every day, in every context, at every level.
